Neighbourhood guide
What it is like to live in The Landings, Port Stanley
The Landings is built for easy, low maintenance living near the lake. The condo section is planned around a community pool, and the homes are architecturally controlled with a shared, lake inspired colour palette. Bungalow townhomes put the main living space on one floor, with vaulted ceilings and a gas fireplace, while spacious basements give visiting family somewhere to stay.
The setting is quieter than the beachfront. The Landings sits on the village’s eastern edge near East Road, south of Hill Street, with Compass Trail as its internal street. Downtown and the lift bridge are about 1.7 km away and Main Beach about 2 km, a short drive or a longer walk. A new long term care home is being built on the neighbouring block, which matters to buyers thinking about aging in place.
There are trade offs to weigh. Later phases and the long term care home are still under construction, so expect building activity for a while. The approved plan also includes a six storey apartment building, and its timing is not settled. Condo fees, what they cover and the cost of running the pool are also worth confirming in writing. Ask the builder about all of these before you buy.
