Port Stanley is a working harbour village at the mouth of Kettle Creek on Lake Erie, and it still behaves like one. The King George VI lift bridge raises for boat traffic in the middle of the village, the fishing fleet ties up beside the restaurants, and the Port Stanley Festival Theatre runs a full season of professional summer theatre a short walk from the sand. Main Beach carries the crowds in July; Little Beach, around the point, stays quieter.
The housing tells the village’s story: original cottages a street back from the water, solid year round homes up the hill, and custom builds on the bluffs with the kind of lake views people drive hours for. Because the village is small and hemmed in by the lake and the valley, there is never much inventory at once, and the best properties often change hands quickly, sometimes before they are ever advertised.
